I began my day sitting in the warm sunshine in city centre, eating pan au chocolate purchased from the outdoor market and drinking a cappuccino. I’ve been enjoying the leisurely feel of Cambridge after the fast-paced, electric, always on-the-go vibe that is London. I wandered through the city after breakfast taking in all of the sights and overhearing snippets of conversations in at least 6 different languages. Cambridge is a tourist hot-spot, and the streets are overflowing with international travelers and school-groups. I wandered past a traditional bakery, and couldn’t help smiling when I overheard drum&bass playing on their speakers. Tea, scones, clotted cream, and drum&bass. Win. Tomorrow we are heading to Ely for a day trip, and Sunday morning I leave for Edinburgh!
The weather is dodgy in London today, and I woke up feeling disoriented and a bit grumpy. Coffee slightly revitalized me, but I’ve decided to keep it mellow and visit the National Gallery to look at paintings. We are meeting the international Pink Floyd brigade at the pub at 6:00 PM as per usual, followed by another fantastic performance of The Wall. If I can find the energy, I might head to East London late night for an underground warehouse party.
